Riverside Habilitation Center in Valley City is a day programming facility specially designed to meet the needs of the individuals living in group homes owned and operated by Transitional Living Centers.

RHC, which opened in 2009, was designed with our individuals in mind. The 14,000 square foot building has multiple spacious activity rooms. Each provide active treatment and programming for our individuals. Examples of these rooms include an arts and crafts room, a music room, a game room, and a spa/salon.

Every room is staffed with the direct care staff that is present at the individual’s group home, providing familiar faces with activities occurring outside of the group home.

In addition to the various activity rooms, RHC maintains a Snoezelen Room for controlled multisensory stimulation, a theater area for both movies and video games, and a gross motor area for physical activities for individuals of all ability levels. A practical Life Training room at RHC hosts a separate kitchen, bedroom, living space, and laundry facility to enhance real life living skills for our individuals.

A full time kitchen staff is present to provide snacks and a nutritious lunch, overseen by a Licensed Dietary Consultant.

Just like at the group homes, nursing staff is available at RHC at all times.

RHC staff also coordinate and implement activities in the community for our individuals. Some of our most enjoyed trips include trips to Harry London Chocolates for tasting and tours, the Great Lakes Science Center, the Medina County Fair, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and bowling at the local alley.

Transportation is provided for clients with staff to and from the group homes in 15 passenger vehicles, owned and operated by TLC.
